Want to learn how to create Google Ads expanded text ads now that they’re almost gone?
I show you exactly how to do that step-by-step in this post and video:
If you go to your campaigns dashboard or pick any ad group, you will find that you are no longer able to create a text ad.
Instead, you have to select the responsive search ad option and then click on “switch to text ads”.
That said, some of you might not even see this option and it looks like Google IS trying to get rid of text ads entirely… so in this video I’ll show you how you can still create extended text ads using the responsive search ad format.
So select “responsive search ad” when you want to create an ad and type in any headlines and descriptions you want.
The issue with this ad format is the lack of control – you can put in your headlines and descriptions, but Google will mix and match them to no end.
To combat this issue, we can utilize pins to ensure where our headlines and descriptions stand.
So for example if you want your call to action text to always appear in headline 2, you would pin that text to headline 2.
This is essentially the exact same as a standard text ad in that you control exactly where your text goes.
And that is how you create Google Ads expanded text ads using the responsive text ads format!
