One of the most important aspects of online marketing is making sure your website is up to par. Having a landing page that looks and functions properly is essential in getting customers to support your company. A good landing page attracts your visitors and hooks them into your site’s product or service, leaving them wanting to find out more.
There are lots of options in terms of tools for building an effective landing page. Two of the most popular services are Unbounce and ClickFunnels. Both of these are great design tools, but each one offers something a little different. It’s important to know the pros and cons of the tools you decide to use in online marketing.
Let’s examine 3 key situations to help you determine which is right for your business.
Know What You Want To Build
The most important factor in determining which tool you will use revolves around figuring out what you want to do. Before choosing one of these two solutions, it is advisable to determine who your target is and what your objectives are with the page you are trying to design.
Although both Clickfunnels and Unbounce have been designed to assist business owners in attracting new customers, there are major differences between both of these tools.
The first thing that you should know is that ClickFunnels lends itself to being an incredibly comprehensive tool for creating sales funnels. Imagine taking your client on a guided tour of your business to get them familiar and then gently closing the interaction with a sale.
Unbounce, on the other hand, focuses more on helping users create unique and engaging landing pages more than anything else. In this case, ClickFunnels is a more comprehensive tool, whereas Unbounce is much more specifically tailored.
If you’re starting from the ground up, it’s probably a good idea to start with ClickFunnels as it can help you do a bit of everything. However, if most of your website’s design is already quite strong and you’re just looking for that extra hook, Unbounce is the way to go.
Third-Party Integrations
The other platforms your business uses can help determine which of these tools is the best fit for you. One drawback of ClickFunnels is that it wants you to use its built-in email client for tasks like auto-generating emails or email marketing tool. This system is not as powerful as other popular third-party email clients such as MailChimp or Salesforce.
Unbounce, on the other hand, is much more flexible in that it knows you might be using other clients and makes itself easy to integrate with those applications. It even integrates with Wordpress, which is a big plus for many since it’s an incredibly popular website design client.
If your business is already using an established email client and doesn’t want to switch then Unbounce is the best option for you. If you’re just starting out then you may want to consider ClickFunnels as, again, it is a much more comprehensive design tool and in this case, saves you from having to decide between the many available options for an email client.
Determine Your Level of Customization
Determining just how much design work is involved in your project is a big part of figuring out which is best for you, since both tools offer different levels of customization.
Unbounce has a wider array of template choices, allowing you to really personalize your site and design it as you see fit. The key here is flexibility; here are some examples of customization features you can add to your webpage with Unbounce:
- Unparalleled template creation
- Ability to import custom templates
- Drag-and-drop text anywhere
- Choose from over 950 Google fonts to spice up your page
- Use full-screen backgrounds
- Add Javascript anywhere
These are just the tip of the iceberg, Unbounce can really thrive in the hands of a creative webpage designer. ClickFunnels on the other hand, also offers customization options, specifically in the areas of templates, but the major drawback is that the customization tools aren’t to the same degree and you’re limited to the framework of the particular template that you choose.
If you decide on something else or you want to try and change the template beyond the way it looks, you won’t be able to. That’s not to say the system is all bad but if you want a versatile webpage creation tool that lets you really let loose with your page design creativity, then Unbounce is the right choice for you!
