In this video, I show you how to embed any Google maps address onto your website.
This is especially useful if you are promoting a physical address offer/campaign or a pay per call campaign and want to add that extra little feature to make your website and offer look more legitimate.
And the way we would do that is really simple.
- First, type in your address into Google maps that corresponds to your business/offer.
- Next, you need to click on “embed” on the right side of the map options. You should immediately see an embed code to use for your website.Make SURE there is something written after the “pb=” on the embed code – if nothing is written there, then your whole map will show up, NOT the location you selected specifically. If there is nothing showing after the “pb=”, just click on refresh and make sure something shows up after that.
So what you need to do is add [angle bracket here]center[angle bracket here] (YouTube doesn’t let me post the actual angle brackets as it considers it a piece of actual code) just before the embed code you entered.
That will now center your entire map.
However if you want to also increase or decrease the size of the map, you need to adjust the “width” and “height” dimensions at the end of the embed URL.
The default is 600 width and 450 height, so make sure you stick to these exact dimensions, ie. 4 width for every 3 height.
You can use a calculator if you want for more complicated dimensions.
So let’s say you want your width to be 700. What would be the correct width?
You would need to take the 700, divide it by 4, and multiply by 3, to give you the correct number for the width, which would be 525.
Sometimes you would need to round up or down and that’s totally fine, it won’t make any difference.
Aside from that, this is it!
You can hit save and your awesome new Google map should show up. Enjoy!
